2016 Southern Alberta commercial tenant real estate forum
Wednesday, December 14, 2016 – 7:30am to 11:00am
Hyatt Regency Calgary
700 Centre Street SE
The economy is in poor shape, and we all know it. For years, Calgary had some of the highest commercial rent prices and lowest vacancy rates. Now the situation has changed, and many businesses are looking at what this means for them. Lease rates are “on sale” and tenants are in the driver’s seat, but how can your business best take advantage?
In a partnership between the Calgary Chamber, Orange Group Commercial Real Estate and McLeod Law, this first-of-its-kind forum is dedicated to educating business owners on their commercial real estate options in the current economic environment, and will provide tangible money saving tricks.
This is a jam-packed morning, consisting of three sessions, each taking a deep-dive approach to topics like:
- Re-negotiating your renewal or finding new space
- Avoiding the landmines in almost every commercial lease
- How to get landlords to compete for your commercial business.
If rent represents a significant portion of your business costs, then this is a must attend event. In a few hours you will learn several inside strategies and opportunities that will most likely save your business anywhere from thousands of dollars per year to hundreds of thousands during the term of your tenancy.
If there’s one event you should attend before the end of the year to set your direction for 2017, this forum is it.

Request From a Community Group
Dear High River Friends,
The Lake Bonavista Novice Three Breakers are hosting an eight team 4×4 team bonding event December 10, 2016 in your beautiful High River area at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation complex.
This event will be a fun one day, four on four, team building day which will include two games, relay races, skills competitions, team time, and a lunch.
150 novice aged (7 & 8 year old) hockey players and their families from the Calgary area will be in attendance.
We would love to be able to showcase your beautiful rebuilt High River to all of the families in attendance, encourage them to see firsthand how far High River has come and support the High River Community by shopping and enjoying what you have to offer.
In order to make this happen we were wondering if you had anything you would like to donate for us to hand out to these 150 families.
As a contributor and host to our event, beautiful High River and your services will be highlighted in our program.
We are also looking for community member support – if you know of anyone who would like to contribute to our event please pass our information along.
We hope we can count on your contribution in order to make this year’s 4×4 jingler extravaganza an amazing experience for our children as well as a huge COMMUNITY success!
Thank you for your time in considering this request.
If you have any questions, please call Kari Schwab at 403.869.5274.

Membership Dues Background information: More than 15 years has passed, since the Chamber introduced an increase in their membership dues. This new fee structure, will include a website listing for your business, a listing on the MyChamber app, in addition to giving you access to all of the value added saving programs, at no extra cost.
