Stat Can recently released a large dataset with income estimates for cities with 10,000+ population. In 2015, the latest available year, median employment income fell 1.5% in Alberta (from 2014). The largest declines were registered in Lloyminster (down 7.3%), Sylvan Lake (down 6.2%), Brooks (down 4.4%), Cold Lake (down 4.1%), Medicine Hat (down 3.7%), Red Deer (down 2.9%) and Lacombe (down 2.8%). Employment income continued to increase in seven cities/towns with the largest increases in Lethbridge, Canmore and Wetaskiwin. The estimates are pretty reliable as Stat Can sampled about 95% of the population. In Alberta the number of persons reporting employment income and/or Employment Insurance was 2.4 million in 2015.
