Business Planning: A Simple Starting Point

  • High River Library 909 1 Street Southwest High River, AB, T1V 1A4 Canada (map)

An informal, beginner-friendly workshop to help current and aspiring entrepreneurs turn ideas into a clear, simple business plan.

Join Community Futures Highwood for an informal, beginner-friendly, in person, business planning workshop designed to help current and aspiring entrepreneurs clarify their ideas and take practical next steps.

This session uses Community Futures Highwood’s business plan template as a foundation, breaking it down into clear, manageable pieces. Rather than completing a full formal plan, participants will work through a simplified version that focuses on the most important elements needed to understand their business, test their idea, and prepare for future growth.

The in person workshop is designed to feel approachable and supportive. It is a starting point, not a finished product. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of their business or business idea, along with a practical framework they can continue to build on at their own pace.

Whether you are running a small business, earning income from home, building a side project, or just beginning to explore a business idea, you are welcome. You do not need to have everything figured out to attend.

This workshop is part of Community Futures Highwood’s business development series and will be held at the High River Library.

Who Should Attend: Small business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, home-based business operators, side-hustlers, creatives, service providers, and anyone who wants a simple and supportive introduction to business planning. This session welcomes participants from all backgrounds and communities. Everyone is invited to learn and grow together.
